Punta Loma Sea lion Reserve

We begin the day by picking you up from your accommodations in Puerto Madryn, to enjoy a nearby experience—ideal for connecting with nature and the region’s history in just a few hours.

We head to the Punta Loma Protected Area, located only 13 km south of the city. Along the way, we travel coastal roads that offer open views of the sea and the Patagonian steppe, anticipating an outing that is as simple as it is memorable.

Our first stop is at the Tehuelche Indian Monument in the Punta Cuevas Historical Park, a site rich in history where the first Welsh settlers landed in 1865. Here, we pause to take in the landscape and connect with the origins of the region.

We continue to the Punta Este Beacon, a privileged panoramic viewpoint from which we appreciate the immensity of the Golfo Nuevo, with its blend of colors, wind, and endless horizon.

Finally, we arrive at the Punta Loma reserve, where we observe colonies of sea lions and cormorants in their natural environment. The closeness and the chance to see them in full activity make this the perfect conclusion to the excursion.

We return to Puerto Madryn with the feeling of having lived an authentic, accessible experience, deeply connected to the Patagonian spirit.
