PENINSULA VALDES NORTH WITH SAN LORENZO FARMHOUSE

We depart in the morning for the Protected Area Peninsula Valdés appointed World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. One hour later we arrive in the charming environment-friendly village Puerto Pirámides for a regular boat tour (optional) to see Southern right whales from June to November, and sea lions and cormorants from December to March. Our next stop is the Estancia San Lorenzo, a traditional Patagonian sheep farm that shelters the world’s largest Magellan penguin colony.

For lunch (not included) we can taste the renowned and tasty Patagonian lamb BBQ. Then, we visit the phenomenal penguin rookery located 4 Miles from the farmhouse (a fee is applied to the visit). Our next stop is the Wildlife Reserve Punta Norte, where depending on the time of year we can observe Southern Sea lions, Southern Elephant seals and eventually Orcas. On our way back to Puerto Madryn, we make a stop at the Visitor Center Carlos Ameghino, a compendium of the natural wealth of the peninsula. Along the journey we have good chances of spotting local wildlife such as guanacos, rheas, foxes, cavies, armadillos and skunks.
